Brief: Create a healthy space within Sheffield, responding to the existing building site and neighborhood. the aim is to encourage healthy living and activates into everyday life to push positive health and well-being.

My Idea: Is based on supporting the problem of social isolation with an educational twist, aiming for all different age groups. With easy access for most people in Sheffield I feel its necessary that is open to everyone. I want to create a gallery that offers both interactive and non-interactive elements with a downstairs café for socialising and relaxing, offering very cheap drinks and jobs. Offering locals to sell their cakes and food at this café to cut costs down and offer cheaper food, with instant coffee.
The gallery could then also be used to hire out for parties or gigs to bring in more money, so it must be tailored to this.
For this project research was key. Finding out the history of the building, site and Sheffield to find out why it was created and if anything should influence our design.
it helped me with developing a plan and design style, whilst figuring out what Sheffield needs from my design.
This is my final café idea.
Keeping the concrete structure, and floor, and adding dark wood walls and deep green plants to create a cosy atmosphere to clash with the harsh concrete texture.
This was my first time using sketchup
Keeping with the dark wood theme I used it to create a path along the floor for people to follow and allow a flow within the space to avoid very occupied area.
