About Me

I am currently studying Interior Architecture and Design at Sheffield Hallam University, due to finish in May, 2021.  I am extremely passionate about architectural design, and have been my whole life.  As a creative and problem-solving individual, I love to champion brilliant design ideas from concept to construction.  With the knowledge I have gained over the years I am ready to put my ideas and experience into the real world.

Experience

Ikea Bedroom and Wardrobe  Co-Worker

Sheffield - 2019 - 2020

My position at IKEA is predominately the sale of bedroom and wardrobe furniture, and working with customers to plan and create the bedroom and wardrobe design they need.  Working alongside a large team, I support any area that needs me, whilst making sure the customers are happy and the store and bedroom designs look up-to-date.

During my time in this position I was also appointed to the role of Sustainable Ambassador for the department.  This involved keeping track of all the products we sell which fit into this category; teaching customers and co-workers about what this means and helping display the items around the store so that customers are able to understand the importance of buying sustainably.

IKEA Interior Design Internship

Sheffield - Summer 2019

The Internship involved working with the Interior Design and Communication team in-store, helping with design layouts, building, drawing, inspiration or anything they needed.  It gave me a great insight into the process of creating a room design and it was brilliant to work alongside the creative team.

Architectural Assistant at Gelder and Kitchen

Hull - 2016

I spent a busy week on placement with this company, learning about all aspects of working as an architect.  I was given a project to create a building in the space which was then being used as a car park.  I researched, drew up plans and presented my final ideas to the team at the end of the week.  This was my first taste of Architecture and has inspired me ever since.
